Suzanne’s talk will touch upon some key plants that are not being talked about by other speakers. The talk will include photographs from the Amaranthaceae (e.g., Ptilotus, Sclerolaena, Maireana), Malvaceae (e.g., Hibiscus, Gossypium, Corchorus), Goodeniaceae (e.g., Goodenia, Scaevola, Lechenaultia) and other less recognised plant families. A few Poaceae, such as Triodia (Spinifex) may also be thrown in, we can’t leave it out! Many plants in these families are specialists of arid and semi-arid areas and are found in surprising numbers and places.
